Weekend in the Woods
September 11 – 13, 2020
UPDATE: This event is sold out.
RELAX, BE INSPIRED, SOCIALIZE, CREATE… and yes, we’ll SCRAPBOOK too!
Get ready for a Crop Girls Getaway ‘Weekend in the Woods‘ at Oakwood Resort! YES! We’ll be cropping at the beautiful Oakwood Resort, nestled in the tree-lined property on the shores of Lake Huron! Just a 60-minute drive from London, this resort offers a full-service spa, beautifully landscaped grounds, private beach access, games room, fire pit, dining room & pub, indoor saltwater pool, sauna, and hot tub! Perfect for our Crop Girls weekend scrapbooking getaway!
We will be cropping in the beautiful Terrace Room offering cathedral style ceilings, 6 large bay windows with stunning views overlooking the golf course to the east and the tree-lined property to the west, and extra lighting added, you’ll have the perfect inspiration and lighting to complete your album pages. PLUS, you’ll get your very own 8-foot cropping table, all to yourself! The stone fireplace and its own sun deck (weather permitting) overlooking the 10th fairway will offer amazing photo ops! The Terrace Room is on the main floor, so no stairs and easy access to move in your cropping supplies. Pop on over to Dave’s Bar & Grill for dinner Friday (on your own click here for menu) or take a drive into Grand Bend to experience local establishments. All meals on Saturday and Sunday will be served in the quiet, relaxing ambiance of the Oak Dining Room, just a few steps from our cropping room.
The Huron Room will be used for shopping and breakout sessions! The Huron Room is Oakwood Resort’s largest meeting room and includes three bay windows and two patio doors with a private deck overlooking the 10th fairway, and a stone fireplace. There are no lifts or elevators. You will be going up and down the stairs to participate in different activities throughout the event, to come for meals & announcements, use the on-site tools, and to get to your rooms. If you have mobility issues and can’t participate on the lower level, please let me know in the comment section of the registration form.
Sundown – Did you know Grand Bend has one of the Top 10 Sunsets in all of Ontario? So, let’s hope for clear evenings to bundle up and make the short walk to the beach to take it in – bring your camera, of course!
